Explaining surrogacy to children doesn't have to be overwhelming. Watch the video for helpful tips from Danielle, an experienced surrogate and case manager for Bright Futures Families!

Hi, this is Danielle Gage, a Case Manager at Bright Futures Families Surrogacy, with Ask a Surrogacy Expert. And today our question is how do I explain to my little children that I am doing surrogacy? That is an excellent question. And I think a great way to describe it to them would be that you are babysitting this baby and once that baby is born, it will be going home to its parents. I think it's also key to really keep that language when you're speaking to them about it simple and, you know, for little children not to really overwhelm them with the details. Another great thing is there are several surrogacy books out there for little children that go over surrogacy. They talk about surrogacy and they really help children understand how surrogacy works.

If you would like a list of those books, we do have a large list that we would be able to share with you here at Bright Futures Families. Just reach out. Thank you for your question.
