Hi, this is Danielle Gage, Case Manager at Bright Futures Families Surrogacy, with Ask a Surrogacy Expert. And today our question is: Why is the wait time for a gestational carrier match so long?

And the honest answer is it's very hard to find a gestational carrier. It's hard to find someone who can meet the strict guidelines that are required to be a gestational carrier and rightfully so. There are strict guidelines in place because you want the best of the best carrying your baby. Also because as an agency we really work to find the best match for you. We take your criteria, your needs, your wants, hopes and we also look at a potential carrier's needs and hopes and work to find the absolute best match because you want this to be the most enjoyable and amazing experience and memorable experience and not just a business transaction you want.

So someone who is going to match your personality as well. So that process can take a bit longer, but in the end it is definitely worth it. Thank you for your question.
