Hey, everyone, it's Amanda Kinnard-Fuchsgruber, Director of Bright Futures Families Surrogacy, with this week's Ask Question. And today's question is, why do I need to have a credit card to be a gestational carrier? Well, many times when a gestational carrier has to travel, a gestational carrier will have to put the credit card down, let's say, for a rental car or a hotel, that kind of thing. And most of those places take out a lot more money if you're using a debit card. So it's typically better if you use a credit card also, too, while you're waiting the three to five days in order to be reimbursed, typically from an escrow account, that money is on a credit card and not being taken out of your bank account. And you can pay the credit card off immediately once you're reimbursed. So first of all, it has a lot to do with travel or medical bills that you may have to pay up front when you're going in for an office visit and then can be reimbursed pretty quickly from escrow. But the issue is a lot of these companies, especially for hotels and rental cards, put large holds on debit cards. So it's always easier and better to have a credit card in order to put, you know, to have that hold on than it is your debit card. I hope that helps.
