What was your favorite or most memorable moment during this whole process?

Most memorable moment was witnessing the parents see their daughter for the first time, it is a visual that will stay will me forever. It is what it was all about, the shared goal of delivering a child they have been waiting years for.

What was the most unexpected part of this process? Or something you would change?

Not sure if I would change much but I underestimated how many appointments there would be that I could not bring my own child to which made things difficult as I had not thought that through. It had not been an issue with my own prior pregnancies and taking a child with me along with to an appointment and finding child care meant family traveling 1 hour in one direction to help out.

What were some of the benefits of working with an agency?

Working with BFF made an unknown process as a first time carrier very easy. Everyone was so helpful and making sure things were done correctly and on time. Any questions were answered and any bumps in the road were worked on immediately and as a team.

What words of wisdom would you share with other/newer gestational carriers?

It is a life changing experience for everyone. I looked at the process at being such a relatively short part of my life to go through this and someone’s whole life on the other end just starting.
