Callie Megel
Intake Coordinator
Intake Coordinator & Surrogate Supporter
What I Do
As BFF’s Intake Coordinator, I’m often the very first person a prospective surrogate talks to. From the moment an intake form is submitted, I reach out personally to guide women through the first steps of their journey. I gather important documents, obtain medical records, and provide education about what to expect before transitioning them to a Case Manager for matching with intended parents.
I bring both professional know-how and personal experience to this role, having been a three-time gestational surrogate myself. Over the past seven years with BFF, I’ve carried for two families and gained first-hand experience with multiple clinics and perspectives in the surrogacy world. That lived experience allows me to support new surrogates with both compassion and confidence. Click here to read my blog.
What I love most about my role is seeing the women I’ve supported from day one complete their journeys and bring life into the world for another family. Witnessing their courage and generosity never stops inspiring me.
At BFF, we truly work as one team. Every success is shared, and when challenges arise, we face them together. We’re one big heart — and it takes all of us to keep it beating.
Why I Joined the Team
I joined BFF at a transformative point in my life. After delivering my first surrogate babies — a beautiful set of twins — I felt a strong calling to do more. I wanted to stay connected to surrogacy, not only as a surrogate but also in a role where I could make a lasting impact.
I started small, helping with keepsake coins for the agency, and gradually moved into the intake process. Along the way, I discovered just how much I loved supporting women at the very beginning of their journeys. Being part of BFF has given me a renewed sense of purpose, blending my personal experience with professional growth, and keeping me connected to a mission I believe in wholeheartedly.
Fun Facts
Hidden talent: I have a knack for loving other people’s kids like they’re my own.
Quirky habit: It drives me nuts when people are late… or when Chapstick isn’t perfectly smooth.
Outside of Work
I love staying active — from spin classes and long walks with my dogs to backyard trampoline fun with my kids. My husband and I are always tackling home projects, and we stay busy in the All-Star cheer world with our family. We also have a tradition of cruising once or twice a year, which has become one of our favorite ways to explore new places together.
At home, I enjoy a balance of fitness, family time, and cozy movie nights.
What I’m Learning
I’m working on becoming a stronger writer — especially for blogs and emails — with the hope that my story can inspire someone else to help create a family. And while I’m also attempting to keep up with the ever-changing world of kid lingo… I’ll admit, that one may be a losing battle.
