What month and year was your baby born?

June, 2025

Why did you choose to use a surrogate?

We initially tried the adoption process, but were frustrated with the several years-long process that it was taking, so we checked out surrogacy.

How was meeting your surrogate?

Meeting our surrogate and her husband was great! We were anticipating some initial awkwardness, but we all instantly connected and felt really comfortable - I think being able to view each other's profiles with our interests and values really helped ensure that we were all aligned and that it would be a good fit.

What was the best part of the process?

The best part of the process was how easy communication was between us and our GC. And welcoming our new baby into our lives (of course!) :)

Which was your favorite moment during the process?

It's hard to choose - it's such an emotional journey, and there are great moments during each stage. The highlights that I can think of are the first time hearing that the implantation was successful, hearing our baby's heartbeat for the first time, and holding him in the delivery room.

Why did you choose to work with an Agency, particularly Bright Futures Families?

We were used to paying a lot of money up front for adoption and surrogacy services which, up to that point, hadn't developed into anything promising. So seeing that BFF didn't require any large down payments until we matched really stood out to us, and confirmed that the agency believed in what they were doing and weren't taking advantage of potential parents.

What was it like when you got to see and hold your baby for the first time?

I can't even describe the full emotional experience. It was so overwhelming to hold the little bundle and know that he came from years of planning. It was pure joy.

What advice would you give to other Intended Parents?

Put yourself out there and be honest in your profiles - it's the unique things about you that stick out and build connections with potential surrogates. And the process can be a rollercoaster, so make sure you're getting the support you need while staying as flexible as possible.
