Hi, this is Danielle Gage, Case Manager at Bright Futures Families Surrogacy, with Ask a Surrogacy Expert. And today our question is: I co-parent with my ex husband. Does this count as raising my own child for surrogacy purposes?

And absolutely, that definitely counts. What we are looking for is that you are an active participant in the raising of your child. So co parenting your child with your ex husband absolutely fits in that description. Thank you for your question.
