Hey, everyone, it's Jennifer White, CEO of Bright Futures Families Surrogacy, with this week's question, which is: Can I be a surrogate if I put a child up for adoption?
And that's a little bit complex, but the oversimplified version is yes, very possibly. But you can't if it is your only child, your only birth you've ever had. You do need to be parenting a child. So if, for example, you gave up a child for adoption, but then you've gone on to have subsequent children that you are parenting, yes, it's very likely you could become a surrogate. If the only birth you've had is one that you did place for adoption, probably less likely that you would be able to do so. Of course, we would want to talk to anybody in their individual circumstances and talk through that before anybody gets a oh my goodness, some lady on the Internet told me this is a definite yes or no. Absolutely. Reach out to an agency and have that conversation with them then. So I hope that helps.
