Hey, everyone, it's Amanda Kinnard-Fuchsgruber, Director of Bright Futures Families Surrogacy, with this week's Ask Question. And today's question is: Can I be a surrogate if my current partner doesn't really seem on board with my being a surrogate?
And the honest answer is, not really. Your partner has to be a part of the screening process, as well as the legal process and court documents. Also, a surrogacy journey. You have a lot more apportment, more appointments. You have more relationships to navigate. You have medications to take. And we also hope that you're pregnant eventually. And we know that is a lot of work. So having a partner who is a strong support system is very important. So, yes, other friends and family, of course, can step in and help, but your partner really is an integral part of this process and needs to be on board and supportive of you in this process.
