Hey, everyone, this is Jennifer White, CEO of Bright Futures Families Surrogacy, with this week's question, which is: Do the intended parents who, once the child is born, become the parents, tell the child that was born via surrogacy that they were born via surrogate?
And that's a really great question and very personal to every set of intended parents. It is absolutely recommended that parents have open, early and honest conversations with their children about where they came from and the story of their birth. But also, I am absolutely understanding that in some cases people may have cultural issues and reasons that they have that conversation with their child or let their child know. But generally, about 99% of the time, people do absolutely tell their child where they're coming, where they came from. You know, that obviously that they were extraordinarily loved and it took some extra people to bring them into this world. And oftentimes they stay in contact with their surrogate. Actually, usually they stay in contact with their surrogate so the surrogate can watch the child grow and that they will actually know who gave birth to them. So I hope that helps.
