Callie Megel, intake coordinator for Bright Futures Families Surrogacy, here for Ask a Surrogacy Expert. Today's question is can I apply to be a gestational carrier if I'm currently breastfeeding my child? And the answer is yes. You can definitely get started with the application, some paperwork involved, maybe getting some medical records, but we won't officially move forward to matching in the site clearance and a bunch of other clearing steps in the process until you are done with with breastfeeding. This is because clinics have requirements for our surrogates coming in that they need to be done breastfeeding. If you have any questions or want to hear more about why you have to be done breastfeeding, feel free to reach out.
