Hi, this is Danielle Gage at Bright Futures Families Surrogacy with Ask a Surrogacy Expert. And today our question is: After the birth, will I have a hard time giving the baby to the intended parents? This question gets asked all the time. Probably one of the most asked questions. Most surrogates do not experience the same level of bonding with the baby as they would if it was their own child. From the beginning, far before the pregnancy even begins. And throughout the pregnancy, the gestational carrier knows this is not her baby. She knows that this is not her child in any way, genetically or practically. And most surrogates are just really excited to be a part of the journey that leads the intended parents to becoming parents. And they are not attached in that way.
And it is not difficult usually to give up the baby whenever you are a gestational carrier, because it's not yours. Thank you for your question.
