Hey, everyone, it's Amanda Kinnard-Fuchsgruber, Director of Bright Futures Families Surrogacy, with this week's Ask Question and today's question: A psych screening seems scary. What's involved?

It's not really scary at all. All carriers must go through an interview with a psychologist that must include your spouse or partner, if you have one, and take the MMPI or the PAI. So the interview is to make sure that you understand the risks of the process and that both parties are okay moving forward with you being a gestational carrier. Then the MMPI or PAI are personality tests that help determine integrity and attitude, and the psychologist is trained to read and give results on that interview. But not scary at all. Usually just a formality. If you have any other questions, let us know.
