Hi, my name is Shauna of Bright Futures Families Surrogacy, and I'm here with this week's Ask a Surrogate Expert. And our question this week is: Why are there so many surrogacy requirements?

The answer to this is there's so many different requirements for a lot of reasons. We want to make sure that the surrogate is healthy and can carry the baby full term. This is for the health and safety of the surrogate and the baby. Second, this is a very big, beautiful, but sometimes challenging commitment. So we want to ensure that you are ready for it mentally, physically, as well as emotionally. To do that, you need to have a really great support system, and you need to have a positive, safe home so that you can have a great, happy, healthy, and safe journey.
