Hey, everyone, it's Amanda Kinnard-Fuchsgruber, Director of Bright Futures Families Surrogacy, with this week's Ask Question. And today's question is: How do I know if my attorney is experienced with surrogacy?

Well, first of all, your attorney should be an assisted reproductive law attorney, not just a family law attorney. So not somebody who does adoption or divorce, that kind of thing, and that they have done previous surrogacy agreements, including the pre or post birth order process. So other ways to check are seeing if they're a member of Quad A or Seeds or other related groups that are connected with the assisted reproductive technology world. Hope that helps. Let us know if you have other questions.

I keep hearing your agency can be anywhere. It doesn't matter, because you will never actually go there. Is this true? Is there a benefit to having a local agency?
