Hey, everyone, it's Jennifer White, CEO of Bright Futures Families Surrogacy. And this week's question is: What is the role of a doula in a surrogacy setting?
And this one's going to be really hard to keep short because I've actually done a whole podcast about this. There are so many ways that doulas can be supportive during any part of surrogacy. Of course, the obvious would be helping the birthing person, the gestational carrier. There can be a doula for the intended parents. There can be doula education support for the intended parents way before the birth, postpartum doula to help the parents after the birth. There can be sibling doulas for the gestational carriers, kids while she's off giving birth. There are so, so many options, and using a doula is a great way to help people through the process. So we absolutely support people using doulas and all of the many, many ways that there are doulas out there.
