Hi, it's Janelle Ibarra at Bright Futures Families Surrogacy with our Ask a Surrogacy Expert question, which is: Can I still exercise while I'm a surrogate?

Now, exercise is a really broad term, and so we have kind of a broad answer for this. If it's just a standard exercise routine, then it should be okay. There are a lot of workouts that can be specifically modified for pregnancy. Anything more rigorous we would need to have further discussion about. And, of course, you're always going to stay within the advice of medical professionals, so fertility clinics, your OB and so on. And there will come times throughout the journey where exercise is not advised, such as immediately following an embryo transfer or if you're placed on bed rest at any point throughout the journey. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
