We’d Love to Hear From You!
Hey, everyone, it's Jennifer, CEO of Bright Futures Families Surrogacy, with this week's question, which is, why can't I be on Medicaid and be a surrogate? And there's a little bit of a caveat and complexity to this, is that the answer is in the state of New York, you actually can be on Medicaid and be a surrogate. So please take that if you live in New York, obviously, set everything I'm about to say aside because it's a different situation for you. Reach out to us as an agency. We're licensed in New York, and we can actually help you there. For everybody else in every other state, it's income driven. And also, Medicaid does not cover a surrogacy journey, so we don't want to risk your children potentially losing their Medicaid coverage because of your surrogacy journey. So that said, if it's something that you want to talk to us about, we can have a whole conversation about, you know, implications, counseling and things like that so that you can make a decision as to what's best for your family or figure out how to potentially move over to an ACA policy when the time is right. We're happy to have that conversation, but it's really about income and financial stability and making sure that your children really stay insured throughout the entirety of the the process because only the parents are responsible for paying your medical bills and not your children's medical bills. And so we really want to make sure that your family is whole and financially healthy at the end of this journey. So please don't hesitate. Reach out to us. We are happy to talk about your individual circumstances in this regard, so hope that helps.
