Hi, it's Janelle Ibarra of Bright Futures Families Surrogacy with Ask a Surrogacy Expert. Our question is do I have to have health insurance to become a surrogate? So at the time of application, you do not have to have surrogacy friendly insurance. However, before you begin the journey, you will need to have surrogacy friendly insurance. So if your plan works and covers a surrogacy journey, then the intended parents will cover the costs that are related to the surrogacy journey during the journey. If you don't have insurance or if your insurance plan is not surrogacy friendly, then the intended parents would need to purchase a plan for you for the surrogacy journey that will cover the expenses related to it. If you have any other questions, because that is kind of just a broad overview, there's a little bit more nuance to it, please let us know.
