Hey everyone, it's Amanda with today's Ask Question. And today's question is “What happens if you or your partner's job changes during the surrogacy process?” And I'll be honest, the main concern there is what happens if insurance changes during the surrogacy process. So obviously you're not an indentured servant. You are not chained to your desk chair in doing your job. So we know that jobs change during the surrogacy process, especially, you know, over a year and a half to time frame. Obviously, if we can avoid that makes everybody's lives easier, but we know that's not always the case. And so it is possible that your job changes throughout this process. And that just means that we need to pay attention to lost wages, to what the terms are in the contract, and who is responsible for things like medical costs and insurance costs.
And the big thing that really is important is your insurance, your health insurance. Because if you are pregnant and you are as a surrogate, we want to make sure that you have surrogacy friendly insurance that covers the pregnancy throughout the process. So whether that's using your work policy or getting an ACA policy or even other policies that exist out there to cover the surrogacy pregnancy, we want to make sure that you are covered through insurance in order to help mitigate those costs, especially for intended parents. So if you have any questions, please reach out. We would love to help you with this process.
